ALEX MILLER

NON-EXECUTIVE ChAIR

Alex Miller joined Cbus as a Director in the Infrastructure team in October 2016. He is currently responsible for the origination, execution and asset management of direct investments, co-investments and fund manager investments. Alex has held prior roles spanning infrastructure advisory, energy and infrastructure project finance, the energy industry and government. Alex holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in economics from James Cook University.

Charles Fung

Non-Executive Director

Charles Fung has more than 10 years of experience in the Australian infrastructure market covering mergers and acquisitions, development and financing transactions. Charles is an Associate Director in DIF Capital Partners’ Australian Asset Management team who oversees a number of renewable energy and PPP projects. Prior to joining DIF, Charles worked as a financial advisor in the sector with a focus on project finance. Charles holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of New South Wales.

Gary Peel

NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Gary Peel joined Synergy in 2006 and is the Chief Information Officer, heading up the Digital and Technology business unit. Gary oversees the management of Synergy’s digital and technology landscape, digital platforms, delivering IT transformational projects and providing cyber security for both information and operational technologies. Gary has over 15 years’ experience in the energy sector and holds a Master of Business Administration from Murdoch University.

Hayden Thomas

Non-Executive Director

Hayden joined Synergy in January 2019 and is the Chief Financial Officer and leads Finance and Business Services. He brings more than 25 years’ of international finance leadership experience in listed entities in the mining and oil and gas sectors. He is a Certified Practising Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science from The University of Melbourne, a Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Monash University and is a graduate of The Australian Institute of Company Directors.

SAM BIRCH

Alternate Director (For Charles Fung)

Sam has 15 years’ experience in infrastructure across Australia and Asia, and is a Senior Director at DIF Capital Partners. Prior to joining DIF, Sam spent six years managing infrastructure investments at Partners Group. He has experience in M&A, value creation, engineering, construction and divestment. Sam holds an MBA from University of Sydney, a Master of Engineering and Bachelor of Engineering.
