Warradarge Wind Farm BIRD STRIKE INFORMATION

The Warradarge Wind Farm commenced commissioning in August 2020. Pre-construction studies indicated that the wind farm was low risk for bird and bat strikes and would have an insignificant impact on local and regional populations (Biota, 2012). Incidental monitoring of bird and bat strikes has been undertaken to date, with no strikes recorded in 2020, a total of six bird strikes in 2021 and one bat and three bird strikes during 2022, none of which were identified to be conservation-listed species. Additional monitoring is proposed in coming years to provide further validation of any avifauna mortality caused by the wind farm operation.
